Has a Master of Arts Honours Degree in Archaeology & Scottish Studies. Is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and a Practitioner Member of Chartered Institute for Archaeologists
When not conducting archaeological tours Dave is carrying out his own research and he co-ordinates the Bostadh Scottish Rural Past Project on Great Bernera which encourages members of the public to discover more about settlements in the area through researching, recording, and interpreting.
Being resident on the Isle of Lewis, Dave is able to take you to less well-known sites.
Dave recommends maximising the opportunity to see wildlife when you are on a tour that you don’t wear bright clothes or strong perfume/aftershave. For your own comfort, stout waterproof footwear and weatherproof coats and trousers are recommended. Some areas are uneven with steep gradients and can be very wet and boggy so a walking stick is advised
